Often I am asked if it is necessary to blog or if it really makes a difference. Should I start a blog? How many times a week should I blog? How to drive traffic to my site? Is it worth blogging today and so many other questions?
I did a little deep-diving into the world of blogging and came up with a few quick confirmed stats that might help answer a few of these questions.
So here you go:
1. 43% of all websites are powered by WordPress. Since March of 2022, there are currently over 1.93 billion websites.
2. More than 70 million blog articles are published on WordPress each month.
3. There are about 31.7 million bloggers in the USA
4. Over 77% of Internet users read blogs on a regular basis.
5. The average length of a blog post is about 1000-1200 words.
6. Blogging influences 6-7% of eCommerce sales and 12% for businesses that blog on a regular basis.
7. Bloggers that publish at least 16 posts a month are getting 4.5x more leads and attention than posting only 4 a month. (Hubspot – “ “)
8. The top-ranking content on Google is between 1100 – 1300 words.
9. Having a blog on your site increases the chance of ranking higher in searches by 434%.
10. 50% of search queries are four words or more.
11. Headlines with 6-13 words long tend to drive more traffic.
12. 60% of buyers purchase products after they have read a blog post about it.
This is a shortlist of blogging statistics but in almost all cases it is “content” that stands out the most in marketing efforts.
These are a few stats that could help your site rank higher and establish yourself as a go-to source of information on the subject you are blogging about. Blogging is no doubt a powerful way to reach the outside world and drive readers to your site.
