I have been following a few breadcrumbs of stats throughout the year to pinpoint the most popular type of blogs and have come up with eight that seem to have a good footing in the market.

But what makes these types of blogs so popular and successful?

I have noticed a few things that these bloggers have in common and I will list those first.

1. They all seem to solve a problem – all these niches that I am going to list below wrote with clarity and provided a solution to their readers. They answered questions the readers may have.
2. Entertained – the writing was entertaining and still provided value to the reader.
3. Provided Information – no matter the genre the information was interesting again solved a problem.
4. Inspiration – no matter the problem the writer enhanced the article to a level of positivity, inspiring the readers through their way of telling the story. Encouraging them through words.
5. Published fresh content on a regular basis – so that readers could depend on new content.
6. Length of blogs – I have found the most popular blogs have at least a 1000 word minimum and many times longer. Writing longer blogs provides an opportunity for the blogger to utilize important keywords and keyword phrases. Longer articles also keep readers around longer on the site.

So now for the blog niches that are producing the most content and are the most popular for this year so far. These are in no particular order.

1. Personal Finance – writing about the problem and finding solutions that help others in the same boat. Writing about retiring, saving, or getting out of debt are all huge subjects that people search the Internet for.
2. Health – Health and wellness go hand in hand and it seems to never end. The rate of health issues are rising by large volumes daily and people seek a solution and like reading how others are handling these circumstances.
3. Food Blogs – are by far ranking way up there. By far I think the most popular of all and still growing. There are food blogs for every type of lifestyle and anything related to food. How to Develop Original Recipes.  Everybody loves a new recipe.
4. Travel Blogs – People love to travel and love reading about how others manage it whether traveling on a budget or just writing about a certain place. Travel-related items and how to financially save for traveling and when and where to go are the most popular places.
5. Mom or parenting blogs – raising children today is a big challenge for most and many parents are looking for ways to school children at home and connect with others doing the same. Many of these sites recommended books, teaching styles, offering courses for parents, and much more to help their audience.
6. Self-Improvement Blogs – This goes hand in hand with the health blogs but sometimes it is much more. This subject covers a range of topics from productivity to bodybuilding.
7. Investing – this can be day trading or long-term investing but these sites are bringing in more and more readers as people are learning to take their own finances and investing choices into their own hands.
8. Blogging – there are numerous blogs on the Internet about and how to start one and make money from blogs. Just like this blog does.

So there you have some of the top eight types of popular blog ideas that anyone can start and perhaps help change lives, even your own.
